Bout of Books Read-A-Thon Goals & Updates

Bout of Books
The Bout of Books read-a-thon is organized by Amanda @ On a Book Bender and Kelly @ Reading the Paranormal. It is a week long read-a-thon that begins 12:01am Monday, August 19th and runs through Sunday, August 25th in whatever time zone you are in. Bout of Books is low-pressure, and the only reading competition is between you and your usual number of books read in a week. There are challenges, giveaways, and a grand prize, but all of these are completely optional. For all Bout of Books 8.0 information and updates, be sure to visit the Bout of Books blog. - From the Bout of Books team

Eeep! I'm so excited! This will be the first Bout of Books Read-A-Thon I'm participating in, and since the last Read-A-Thon I did went to so well, I decided to take a shot at another one.

Anyways, I plan on trying to read at least 5 books and of course participate in tons of Twitter and commenting shenanigans. Not sure if it counts for the challenge but I will be trying to finish up one book too. The books I'll most likely read are:
(This is the book I will be finishing)

Bennett & Camilla: The Playboy Prince\Cordina's Crown Jewel   The MacGregor Grooms

Throughout the week I'll also be posting updates and thoughts throughout the week. Are you participating in this read-a-thon? Leave a link to what you'll be reading below and I'll come check it out!

End of Summer Read-A-Thon Wrap-up!

Well, looks like the Read-A-Thon came to an end on Monday. *insert sobs here*
I did not read all the books I wanted to but I did accomplish a lot more than I thought I would!

I first listened to the audiobook of Inkheart by Cornelia Funke which was equivalent to 548 pages. Next up, I read Sweethearts by Sara Zarr which was only 217 pages. Finally, I finished off the last two days with listening to the Catching Fire audiobook by Suzanne Collins. And that was equivalent to 391 pages!

So, in total I read 1,156 pages! Not bad over a four day period! I had so much fun entering all the giveaways and doing all the challenges and I cannot thank Audris and Lisa enough for putting together this Read-A-Thon and letting me participate! Round of applause!

What did everyone else read? I'd love to see what you accomplished! You know where the comment section is, so start typing :)

See you soon!

What do you do?

All you have to do is gather up a big stack of books, either summer themed, or books you planned on finally reading this summer, and start reading and don’t stop until Monday August 12th!! I plan on reading books that have been sitting on my shelf for months now, unread. Also tons of giveaways, challenges, and special posts are planned out on both Turning Pages and YA Bookmark, so it’s easy to be able to join in on the fun!

How to take part?

All you have to do is fill out the form below, with all the information required, and you’ll be in! The information to take part in giveaways and challenges will be listed in each post.

What can you get?

Besides finally finishing those unread TBR books, each day Audris and I will host giveaways on our blogs! That means eight giveaways in four days!! Yes eight! Besides that, each day will hold a new challenge on both Turning Pages and YA Bookmark, completing each challenge will add another entry in our final HUGE giveaway! So yes, actually nine giveaways in four days! The more challenges you complete, the greater your chance is to win our final giveaway!

So what am I reading? Here's the (tentative list):
Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins (audiobook)
Inkheart by Cornelia Funke (audiobook)
Midnight in Austenland by Shannon Hale
